Description
Ultrabond 6C – Two‑Component Polyurethane Moisture Barrier for Cabinet Bases
Ultrabond 6C is a two‑component polyurethane compound specifically formulated for use as a sealant against the ingress of moisture into the concrete bases of cabinets and cross‑connection points. It is designed to create a durable, water‑resistant barrier that helps protect critical infrastructure from damp, condensation, and ground moisture that can lead to corrosion, insulation failure, and service interruptions.
The system is intended for use by telecoms and electrical contractors working on street cabinets, junction boxes, and other outdoor installations where concrete bases are vulnerable to water ingress. When mixed and applied correctly, 6C forms a tough, adherent seal that resists moisture penetration and helps maintain a dry internal environment within the cabinet base.
As part of the Ultrabond range from MW Polymers Products Ltd, 6C is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of external infrastructure environments, offering consistent performance in both new installations and remedial sealing works.
Key Benefits
-
Purpose‑designed for cabinet base sealing – Specifically formulated to prevent moisture ingress into concrete bases of cabinets and cross‑connection points.
-
Reliable, long‑term moisture barrier – Creates a durable, water‑resistant seal that helps protect against damp and condensation.
-
Two‑component polyurethane system – Delivers a tough, adherent barrier with good resistance to environmental ageing.
-
Suitable for telecoms and electrical infrastructure – Ideal for street cabinets, junction boxes, and similar outdoor installations.
-
Consistent performance – Engineered for use in demanding external environments where reliability is critical.
Typical Applications
Ultrabond 6C is used by telecoms and electrical contractors for:
-
Sealing concrete bases of street cabinets and cross‑connection points against moisture ingress
-
Protecting junction boxes and outdoor enclosures from damp and ground moisture
-
Remedial sealing works where existing moisture barriers have degraded or failed
-
New infrastructure installations where long‑term moisture protection of cabinet bases is required
How It Works
Ultrabond 6C is supplied as a two‑component polyurethane system. The two parts are mixed immediately before use to initiate the curing reaction. The mixed compound is then applied to the prepared concrete surface, typically at the base of the cabinet or around entry points, where it cures to form a solid, adherent, moisture‑resistant layer.
Once cured, the 6C barrier resists the passage of liquid water and water vapour, helping to keep the internal cabinet environment dry. This reduces the risk of corrosion to metalwork and connections, protects insulation integrity, and supports the long‑term reliability of the installed equipment.
